High School Volunteers in Conservation Events

The Delta Rivers Nature Center is hosting two separate volunteers in conservation events open to any high school students interested in gaining service hours (as required by ACT 237 of 2023). Students will participate in a conservation float cleanup on Caney Bayou under the supervision of experienced AGFC staff. AGFC staff will conduct hands-on basic canoe operation and water safety training with students prior to launching vessels. Lifejackets will be provided and must be worn while on the water. Weather appropriate attire and rubber boots are recommended. No prior canoe experience is needed and students can attend both events if desired. Registration is required.
