The Pine Bluff Black Firefighters Association and Banishing Racial Animosity Vigorously Everywhere (B.R.A.V.E.) is presenting Project Fresh Start from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9, at the Donald W. Reynolds Center, 211 W. Third Ave. in Pine Bluff.
The event features free school supplies, many vendors and a chance for kids to meet and mingle with firefighters.
Another school supply giveaway will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, at the God and Christ Church, 2901 S. Main St., in Pine Bluff.
These two events come on the heels of firefighters welcoming kids back to school at James Matthews Elementary on July 28. And on Monday, Aug. 11, firefighters will be at Coleman Elementary to help get kids in the spirit of going back to school.
“These are all important events to the department,” said Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services Public Information Specialist John Worthen. “All of our men and women love giving back to the community, and these are just some of the ways we do that. And the kids love it, too.”
