Exhibition Reception: “Rewilding” by Crystal Jennings — 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 21
The ARTx3 Campus will host a reception for Crystal Jennings’s new exhibition “Rewilding” from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 21. The event is free and open to the public.
In a world full of digital noise, “Rewilding” offers a peaceful return to our roots. This exhibition features intricate charcoal drawings where human forms and animals blend with the natural world. Designed as a visual “system restore,” it is a friendly invitation to slow down, unplug, and let our natural instincts flourish.
Jennings is an Arkansas-based artist whose large-scale charcoal drawings explore the deep connections between human biology, wildlife and the natural environment. Born in Pine Bluff, she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in art and design from Columbia College Chicago. Jennings uses the ancient, grounded medium of charcoal to counter modern digital distraction. Recently, her work has been shown in galleries throughout the state and toured with the Arkansas Arts Council’s “Small Works on Paper” exhibition. She works from her studio in Rison, where she lives with her husband and daughters.
