Blessing of the Animals

In celebration of the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, known for his love of all God’s creatures, several churches around Arkansas will hold Blessing of the Animals prayer services. Animal lovers are invited to bring their pets to have them blessed and gently sprinkled with holy water. The services are a way of thanking God for the pets that bring joy to so many.
All pets/animals must be leashed or caged for the event. If unable to bring your animal, you may bring a picture of the pet/animal to be blessed.
It is suggested to bring a donation of dog/cat food or treats for the Jefferson County Humane Society and the Pine Bluff Animal Shelter/Control. If unable to bring an item, you may make a monetary donation.
The Pine Bluff Animal Shelter will also have a few pets available for adoption.
This event has been happening for over 25 years here at Grace Church.
