The Dumas Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in the block of 200 S Oak St that left one person dead.
Upon the officer’s arrival, a male was laying on the ground unresponsive. Officers began CPR. The victim, a 24-year-old black male of Dumas, was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim’s identity has not been released at this time.
An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
