In Desha County Circuit Court last week, several individuals accepted negotiated pleas and received their sentences.

Niaka Harris was sentenced to three years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections for fleeing in a vehicle, with an additional three years of suspended imposition of sentence (SIS).

Kendrick Alexander received a six-year sentence in the Arkansas Department of Corrections for battery 2nd degree, theft of property, and fleeing, along with four years SIS.

Shandarian Woods was sentenced to four years in the Department of Community Corrections for theft of property, plus six years SIS.

In trials concluded by jury verdicts, Elissie Railey was found guilty of battery 3rd degree and fined $2,500, in addition to court costs.

Jon Schwartz was found guilty of possession with purpose to deliver methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, with sentencing scheduled for May 29, 2025.
