Many people are without power in South Arkansas, and one of the larger power utility companies in the area is C&L Electric, with offices in Sheridan and Star City.

A large amount of the power outages in the area at the time are for C&L customers.

The company provided an update Thursday morning on their Facebook page:

Crews continue work on restoring power to our members. As of this morning, power has been restored to substations in:
• Lacey
• Grady
• Dumas
• Pea Ridge
• Winchester
• Rison
• Grapevine
• Montongo South

There are still damaged tap lines and service lines which means that there will be scattered outages for members in these areas. Crews will continue to work to resolve these outages.

Substations that remain without power:
• Star City
• Tarry
• Selma
• Green Mount
• Palmyra
• Warren West
• Wilmar
• Pansy
• Hermitage
• Sheridan
• Pinebergen

These substations are dependent on major transmission lines that were heavily damaged. Once power begins to flow from transmission lines feeding these substations, we can begin restoring power in these areas. There will still be damaged tap lines and service lines which means that there will be scattered outages for members in these areas.

Please ensure that you have reported your outage by calling 870-628-4221. This will enable us to efficiently dispatch crews to repair individual service lines for each member once power is restored.

Two sources from C&L Electric who wished not to be named in this article told DeltaplexNews.com that it could take as many as 7-10 days to restore power to some residents due to the damage to the transmission lines. The sources said that once those lines are repaired Entergy Arkansas will then have to test the lines before power can be completely restored. C&L Electric receives power from an Entergy Arkansas substation in South Pine Bluff, according to the sources.
