CAC hosts annual Child Abuse Prevention Rally

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Southeast Arkansas (CAC) hosted its annual Child Abuse Prevention Rally at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Services Center in light of National Child Abuse Prevention Month on Friday, April 21st.

To kick off the event, Jason Duren from United Way of Southeast Arkansas gave the welcome addressing why the rally is important.

Duren also mentioned that United Way is also partnered with CAC to help provide services to abused children in need.

Detective Chris Wieland from the Pine Bluff Police Department was a featured guest speaker and he talked about how he relates to abused children.

Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA) a group of bikers who work with local courts to provide support to abused children was a featured group at the event and a member, Artist, spoke about their mission.

BACA has four chapters in Arkansas located in Russellville, Fort Smith, Conway, and Fayetteville. Those interested in learning more about BACA or receiving services can visit their website.

Stacy Hubanks the Forensic Interviewer for CAC also spoke to the community acknowledging the team and the groups such as the Arkansas State Police and DHS that work alongside her to complete their mission.

After the Rally, Deltaplex News spoke with Hubanks about her role as Forensic Interviewer and the impact they have on the students they serve.
