The Arkansas Supreme Court rejected the second of two parts of a lawsuit brought against Issue 2. The ballot measure on casinos will count in the general election.
The group challenging the issue claimed that the ballot title and language was misleading. The court disagreed on those claims.
Earlier this week, the same court rejected the first part of the lawsuit, which dealt with canvassers. The suit claimed those gathering signatures were improperly paid, with their compensation based on the number of signatures they brought in. If approved by the voters, Issue 2 would stop a proposed casino near Russelville. It would also mean that if another casino were to ever open in the state, both statewide approval and approval in the county where the casino is proposed would have to approved.
