On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, the Des Arc Police Department sought assistance from the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division following a fatal incident in the 300 block of South 15th Street in Des Arc.
Officers responded to a 911 call at the location and discovered Teri Overton, a 60-year-old resident of Des Arc, suffering from a gunshot wound. Overton tragically succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead the following day, on May 8, 2025.
The body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for a thorough examination to determine the precise cause and manner of death.
