A $50,000 cash bond was set for 2 Pine Bluff men accused of possessing illegally modified firearms and large quantities of marijuana.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge 19-year-old Dallas Kentle with Violation of the Uniform Machine Gun Act and Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms.
Reading from an affidavit by Detective Sargeant Jason Boykin, the Prosecuting Attorney said on July 17th, Officer Lee was in the area of 6th and University looking for a grey Dodge Charger occupied by Kentle, a wanted suspect.
The officer spotted the vehicle around University, where he noticed they tossed a large bulky item out of the passenger side of the vehicle into a bush at the intersection.
Officer Lee initiated a traffic stop around Cypress St. and two of the three occupants were apprehended: Kentle and Trenton Rogers.
Officer Lee returned to the area where the item had been thrown from the vehicle and recovered modified firearms along with approximately 51 grams of suspected marijuana.
Both men refused to give a statement.
Kentle has a pending case out of 1st Division for Aggravated Robbery, 1st Degree Battery, and Theft of Property.
Rogers is on probation out of 5th division. He was charged with with Violation of the Uniform Machine Gun Act, Simultaneous Possession of Drugs and Firearms, and Fleeing on foot.
Kentle and Rogers are scheduled to return to court September 14th.
