A $5,000 secured bond was set for a Pine Bluff man accused of breaking into the house of a deceased woman to look for money.
Pine Bluff District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge 45-year-old Christopher Millard with Residential Burglary.
Reading from an affidavit, the Prosecuting Attorney said on July 16th, officers responded to a secure check at a house on E. 38th when upon arrival they discovered Christopher Millard in the south-west bedroom of the residence.
Millard was instructed by officers to exit the residence, but he retreated further into the house, causing the officers to enter to locate him.
Officers located him under the house, and he was apprehended once he crawled out.
During an interview, Millard stated he was in the house to look for loose change.
The owner of the residence’s daughter received an unknown phone call informing her that someone was breaking into her deceased mother’s home.
Millard is ordered to have no contact with the property and is scheduled to return to court September 11th.
