Martha Louise Byrd Wylie, 94, of Star City passed away Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Dalton’s Place of Star City. Martha was born July 1, 1932 in Gainesville, TN to the Late Charlie and Effie Steward Byrd. Martha was a homemaker and attended First Free Will Baptist Church in Star City, where she was a member of the Faith Sunday school class. She loved singing, flower gardening, sewing, and making crafts. Martha loved to chase you down with her walker and give hugs and kisses. She was a loving lady that never met a stranger and enjoyed making friends with everyone she met.
Also, preceding her in death was her loving husband, Jimmy Wylie, two sons; Mike Wylie and Pat Wylie, six brothers; Dalton Byrd, Laine Byrd, Milton Byrd, Larry Byrd, Dayton Byrd, Louis Byrd, and one sister, Evelyn Yarbrough.
Survivors include one daughter; Debbi Turnbow and husband Ricky of Star City, sister, Patricia “Sissy” Ann Meinke of Mustang, OK, four grandchildren; Daniel Turnbow and wife Angel, Heather Gonzalez and husband Micael, Joshua Wylie, and Jacob Wylie, six great grandchildren; Hunter Allen and wife Piper, Colton Allen, Peyton Turnbow, Emma Turnbow, Elias Gonzalez, and Josiah Gonzalez, and one great great grandchild, Scott Allen.
Visitation will be 6:00pm to 8:00pm Monday, July 13, 2026 at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City. Funeral Services are 10:30am Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Griffin Funeral Service with Bro. Tim Forman officiating. Pallbearers are; Ricky Turnbow, Daniel Turnbow, Micael Gonzalez, Peyton Turnbow, Elias Gonzalez, Josiah Gonzalez, and Kevin Byrd. Honorary pallbearers are Hunter Allen and Colton Allen.
Burial services are pending at this time at Morrison Cemetery in Brighton, TN with Pastor Micael Gonzalez and under the care of Maley Yarbrough Funeral Home.
