Katherine “Katie” Elizabeth Hartley, age 35, passed away peacefully at her home on June 16, 2026. She was born on June 17, 1990, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Gerald Hartley Jr. and Tammie Slentz Hartley.
Katie was a devoted mother and will be remembered for her strength, perseverance, and spirit. A passionate advocate, she supported LGBTQIA+ rights and stood firmly for the dignity and well-being of others, especially the less fortunate. She often sought out stray animals in need of rescue and cared for each of them attentively.
Katie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gerald and Mary Hartley. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Coraline Violet Hartley; her parents, Gerald Hartley Jr. and Tammie Hartley Medina; her partner, Eligh Gardner; her grandparents, Jack and Georgia Slentz; and many more family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you perform an act of kindness in Katie’s honor today, donate to a local food bank, or support a local animal sanctuary.
