According to the Cleveland County Herald, The Cleveland County School Board unanimously approved a “guaranteed maximum price” of $12,393,687 from Clark Construction of Little Rock for building the new gym at the Rison School Campus.

Hayden Cunningham and Weston Jones of Clark Construction, the company selected by the school board to serve as the construction manager for the project, told the board during this meeting Monday night that the bids came in higher than expected due to recent inflationary pressures.

However, Cunningham said they received 123 bids for the project, which means the bids were very competitive. He told the board that he has never had that many bids submitted for one job in his career.
