Ronnie Lee “Poppy” Womack, Sr., 79, of Pine Bluff, was a loving, Christian man who loved helping children through sports and his church family. He passed away Sunday, May 17, 2026, at home.
Mr. Womack was born May 2, 1947, in Dumas, son of Arbra Lee Womack and Jessie Jewel Robertson Womack.
Ronnie moved with his family to Pine Bluff at a young age and graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1965.
After a few years in the family businesses, Womack Plumbing and in construction before working for Pickett-Davison Fuel Service.
Ronnie was a active member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church, where he enjoyed coaching Upward Bound Basketball. He also loved coaching both his family and other kids in baseball and pee wee football.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his loving wife, Martha Coyle Womack, whom he married January 20, 1968 in Pine Bluff; son, Ronnie Lee Womack, Jr. (Kelly); daughter, Jennifer Hurley (Tony); sister, Rhonda Dean; grandchildren, Ronnie Lee Womack, III, Alex Bray Taylor, Addison Womack and Courtney Lewis (Tyler Cogbill); bonus grandchild, Aspen Hurley; great-grandchildren, Taylynn Cogbill, Weston Cogbill, Ethan Lee Womack; and bonus great-grandchild, Parker Dove.
Services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 22, 2026, at Watson Chapel Baptist Church with Brother Todd Howard officiating by Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Watson Chapel Baptist Church.
