Gene Darrell Davis, age 76, of White Hall, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026 at his home. He loved going to church and gospel music. The aerospace industry and auto racing also were among his passions.
Born in Hot Springs on February 5, 1950, he was the son of the late Lowell Gene Davis and Faye Cannon Davis. He spent his early years in various places as his father did construction and riverboat work. A resident of White Hall since 1965, he graduated from White Hall High School in 1968. Gene furthered his education at the University of Arkansas at Monticello where he earned a degree in business and accounting.
For a number of years, he worked in the banking industry at Simmons Bank and First South Savings and Loan. He then owned and operated Pinnacle Mortgage and later Pine Bluff Glass Company from 1998-2011.
He was a faithful member of Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and fish and was fascinated by any type of heavy equipment and tractors.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Boast Davis, whom he married on June 7, 1969; his children, Darrell Davis (Irene) of Redfield and Kathryn “Katy” Carnes (Russell) of Sheridan; three brothers, Michael Davis of Greenwood, Randy Davis of Hot Springs, and Shawn Davis of Royal; and his grandchildren, Hunter Carnes, Cole Carnes, Anna Kate Davis, and Drew Davis.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Robinson & Fuller White Hall Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Brother Rick Glover, Brother Mike Powell, and Brother Rusty Womble officiating. Burial will be private.
