James Hugh Marter, 73, of Monticello, AR passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the VA Hospital in Little Rock. He was born August 10, 1952, to the late James Marter and LaVerne Burks Marter. James was of the Baptist faith and a retired truck driver for War Eagle Boats.
Also preceding him in death are his three brothers, Jim Marter, Kenneth Funderburg, and Charles Marter Sr., and two sisters, Juanita Smith and Nancy Forrest.
Survivors include three stepdaughters, Amanda Lytle, Crystal Goodman, and Debra Brown all of Monticello, AR, one brother Don Marter (Donna) of Monticello, and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family will have a private family service at a later date.
