1937-2026
Martha Dean Watts Owen, 88, of Star City passed away April 9, 2026 at CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was born September 26, 1937 in Lincoln County to the late Lewis and Addie Etta Carrington Watts.
Martha was a member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church and the Lincoln County Cattlemen’s Association. She retired from the Bank of Star City, now Connect Bank, after 21 years of employment.
Also preceding Martha in death was her husband James Melvin Owen, sister Betty Jean Tarver, brother James Delman Watts and nephew Carl Tarver III.
Survivors are one son, Truett Owen (Margaret) and one daughter, Sondra Reaves (Terry) and one sister Linda Lou King (Leon) all of Star City. Other survivors include one grandchild Anthony Scott Owen (Heather), one step grandchild Amy Harmon (Brady) and 5 great grandchildren, Zeb Russell Owen, Olivia Reed (Jaxon), Mary Claire Noble (Noah), Sam Reed (Ellie), and Ben Harmon.
Graveside Services will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 2:00PM in Hickory Grove Cemetery, with Bro. John Marlar and Bro. David Harrington officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Pallbearers will be Robert Hankins, Rickey Collins, Keith Griffin, Sam Reed, Caleb Walker and Darren McGee.
