Trail of Tears Association’s
Spring Meeting Scheduled for April 18
You are invited to attend the Spring meeting of the Arkansas Chapter of the Trail of Tears Association (ARTOTA) on Saturday, April 18, 2026.
Wabbaseka, AR native Jason Irby, who serves as president of the ARTOTA, invites everyone to attend the public meeting presentation beginning at 1:00pm. The location is the Sultana Disaster Museum at 14 Military Road in Marion, AR.
Irby will open the program and introduce the ARTOTA.
Melody Walker, director of Planning and Operations (original museum), will give an introduction and lead a discussion on the Sultana Disaster.
The guest speaker will be Dr. Daniel F. Littlefield, Jr., director and founder of the Sequoyah National Research Center. He will speak on The Military Road and Indian Removal.
This meeting is free of charge and open to the general public. Refreshments will be served.
