Willie Truman “Bill” Jackson, born January 11, 1937 in Ingalls, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2026. He graduated from Vick High School in 1955 and moved to San Bernadino, California, where he met Hettie Ann Holdaway the same year. They married in Reno, Nevada on October 19, 1956 and welcomed their daughter, Vicki Lynn, on October 16, 1957.
Bill and Hettie built a life in Lakewood, California, where he sold life insurance. The family subsequently moved to Warren, Arkansas in 1969 after his father’s death, and he worked in construction and sold insurance before moving to White Hall in 1987. He retired from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff in 2000.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his grandson Michael, carpentry, going to church, and was a master gardener.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hettie Ann Holdaway of Wellington, Kansas; daughter, Lisa Melinda Jackson of Lakewood, California; parents, John William Jackson and Hattie Kitchell Jackson of Ingalls, Arkansas; and sisters, Erma Dean Corker of Warren, Arkansas, Myrline Harrod of Fontana, California and Freddie Worrell of Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Survivors include his daughter, Vicki Houston, of White Hall, Arkansas; sister, Pat Zimmerman of Brighton, Illinois; grandson, Dr. Michael Belt (Lauren) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and granddaughter, Erica Ivy-Kwan (AJ) of St. Louis, Missouri.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2026 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Brother John Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Robinson’s.
