Gregory DuWayne Merritt, 55, of White Hall, Arkansas passed away March 28, 2026, in Pine Bluff. Greg was the son of Grace and DuWayne Merritt. He was born on March 7, 1971. Greg was a Christian by faith and attended New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Casscoe. He loved to work on the farm, along with hunting, fishing, riding the side-by-side, spending time with his family, and being on the farm.
He is survived by his loving wife, Andrea Merritt of White Hall; son, Dakota Merritt of Star City; daughter, Madison Merritt of Gillett; mother, Grace Merritt of Star City; step-daughter, Bonnie (Eli) Patterson; step-sons Hayden (Stormy) McKennon and Blake (Kate) Foster; brother Doug Merritt of Clarksville, sister Missy Daly of Dardanelle; 10 grandchildren Kynnlea McKennon, Peyton McKennon, Brayden Foster, Ryker Patterson, Graham Foster, Fallon McKennon, Kolten Patterson, Avy McKennon, Myles Foster, and Levi Patterson. Greg was preceded in death by his father, DuWayne Merritt.
Greg grew up in Dumas and, after graduating from Dumas High School in 1989, went on to work on the farm with his father, DuWayne Merritt. Over the years, he also sold farm equipment and worked in construction for much of his career. He loved anything and everything related to farming.
Music was his passion, and he cherished the time he spent singing and playing the guitar with his kids. Greg had a way of lighting up any room, bringing jokes and laughter wherever he went. He never met a stranger.
He enjoyed trips to High Island beach with his wife, Andrea, and especially loved hunting with Andrea and his children, Madison and Dakota.
Visitation and services held at Griffin Funeral Home, visitation Friday, April 3, 2026, from 5-7pm. Services at 2:30 pm on Saturday, April 4, 2026, with Rev. Michael Hancock officiating and burial following at Walnut Lake Cemetery, Pickens, Arkansas.
Memorials in memory of Greg may be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital or American Cancer Society.
