A Jefferson County man with multiple prior felony convictions will be held without bond after allegedly shooting and killing his live-in girlfriend.
On Monday, Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth ruled prosecutors have probable cause to charge Scottie Glover, 56, with capital murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Reading from an affidavit from Sheriff’s Investigator Kristen Garner, Prosecuting Attorney S. Kyle Hunter said on March 27 at about 10 p.m. deputies were sent to Sassafras Trail in response to a reported disturbance between Glover and a female identified as Donna Holder.
Hunter said deputies obtained a search warrant and found a 12-gauge shotgun with one spent shell casing and three shells in the chamber. Glover was not interviewed at the time because deputies smelled the odor of alcohol and administered a portable breathalyzer which showed a reading of .157.
Hunter said Glover has more than four prior felony convictions. He was told to come back to court May 13.
