Golden Lions strike first

Arkansas-Pine Bluff opened the series with its most complete performance of the weekend, rolling to an 11–4 victory. The Golden Lions’ offense erupted for 16 hits, highlighted by multi-hit efforts from several players, including Konner Giddley and Blake Coleman.

UAPB broke the game open with a five-run sixth inning and added insurance late, while starting pitcher Jalen Porter delivered a solid outing on the mound. The dominant win gave the Golden Lions early control of the series and momentum heading into Saturday.

Rattlers respond in Game 2

Florida A&M answered back in the second game, pulling out a 7–5 victory to even the series. Despite UAPB collecting 12 hits, timely hitting by the Rattlers proved decisive—most notably a four-RBI performance from Ethan Miller.

The Golden Lions showed resilience early, plating four runs in the second inning behind extra-base hits and aggressive baserunning. However, Florida A&M capitalized on key opportunities late, scoring five runs across the final three innings to take control.

Sunday battle slips away

In the rubber match, UAPB fought back from an early deficit and briefly tied the game midway through, but Florida A&M’s offense delivered again in clutch moments to secure the series-clinching win.

The Golden Lions showed flashes offensively, stringing together key hits to stay within reach, but were unable to contain the Rattlers’ timely hitting down the stretch.
