Faye Hager Freeman, 86

Faye Jean Hager Freeman, 86, of White Hall, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026.

Born in Becker, Mississippi on July 12, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Loyd Sophus Hager and Eugenia Lee Hager (née Russell.)

Faye grew up in Pine Bluff and graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1957.

She was a member of White Hall United Methodist Church and was previously a member of Carr Memorial United Methodist Church.

Faye enjoyed a distinguished 34 year-long career working in various positions for the Federal Government, including for the US Army at the Pine Bluff Arsenal, the Federal Aviation Administration at the Pine Bluff and Little Rock Airports, and the Farmers Home Administration in Pine Bluff.

Faye was a Master Gardener, and enjoyed being outdoors, whether camping, fishing, boat-riding or spending time at their part-time residence at Lake Village. She was an excellent cook, often preparing food for friends, family and church events. For years Faye was a Bible Study teacher, spending hours preparing her lessons each week. Her favorite role was that of “Granny” to her granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, her husband, James R. Freeman, and sister, Betty Hackney. Survivors include her son, James Robert Freeman, Jr. and his wife, Margaret Davis Freeman of Franklin, North Carolina; a sister, Peggy Gandy of White Hall; two granddaughters, Laura Freeman of Atlanta, Georgia and Bess Freeman of Greenville, South Carolina.

A memorial service celebrating Faye’s life will be held at Robinson & Fuller Funeral Chapel in White Hall AR on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Margaret Davis Freeman officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral chapel beginning at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow the service at the White Hall Methodist Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
