The Pine Bluff Quilt Guild will hold their next monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 17 , 2026 at 9:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church on Hazel Street. A program on applique techniques will be given by Ellen Jordan and Sonia Green. The guild members are also actively working on a mystery quilt for 2026; new members are welcome to join in. A challenge to use flying geese units has also been announced; this project will need to be completed by June. In addition the guild members are working on their W.I.P. list. A W.I.P. is a “work in progress”. The goal is to motivate members to finish some of their projects this year. Sewing days will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 24 and 25 at the First Baptist Church.
Each business meeting includes show and tell, birthday recognitions, fat quarter and door prize drawings. Many members stay after the meeting to sew and fellowship. Members are asked to bring one to three Spring fat quarters to the March meeting. White and white on white fat quarters are accepted during any month. Members who have a March birthday are asked to bring a sewing related item to add to the birthday basket.
Members are also collecting items for the Opportunity House in Pine Bluff; this is their community service project for the year. Suggested items include personal care and household items.
Anyone interested in the art of quilt making is welcome to come visit a meeting or sew day. The purpose of the Pine Bluff Quilt Guild is to promote the quilting community, teach new quilt making skills, and to ensure that the love of quilts continues for many more years.
