Remembering Austin

Austin Hill, Sr., 77, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, peacefully passed away on February 6, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Austin was born on September 12, 1948, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to Napoleon Hill and Ernestine (Rauls) Hill. He received his education in the Pine muff School District and graduated in from Merrill High School.

Austin accepted Christ at an early age at Solomon Hill Baptist Church.

Later in life, he united holy matrimony to Gloria (Woodus) Hill, through this union, they were blessed with three beautiful children: Bridget Hill, Austin Hill, Jr., and Juan Hill. Austin and Gloria also took great joy in raising their grandchild, Morgan Hill, as their very own.

Austin was a grandfather to Braylon Hill, Basha Hill, Bakari Hill, Jade Hill, and Morgan Hill. He was a devoted brother, uncle, and friend to many.

Austin began employment with the Union Pacific (Cotton Belt) Railroad, where he dedicated 25 years of service until his early retirement. During the 1980s, while still employed, he established and coached the Little League! Falcons football team for many years. His years of coaching were a true labor of love, dedication, and mentorship for so many youths in the community, eventually passing the torch to his son Juan in 2008.

After retirement, Austin received an Associate Degree in Heating and Air from Southeast Arkansas College, as well as a license in Commercial Driving. He later started his own trucking company, Braylon's Enterprise. Austin also enjoyed traveling abroad for many years.

Austin was preceded in death by his parents, Napoleon Hill and Ernestine (Rauls) Hill; his son, Austin Hill, Jr.; his wife, Gloria (Woodus) Hill; his sisters, Gloria Hill and Helen (Hill) Johnson; and his brothers, Earl (Jose') Hill and Napoleon (Buck) Hill.

Austin leaves to cherish his memory his loving daughter, Bridget Hill; his devoted son, Juan (Christi) Hill; his cherished grandchildren, Morgan Hill, Braylon Hill, Basha Hill, Bakari Hill, and Jade Hill; his siblings, Wanda (Hill} Washington and Herman (Alice) Hill; and a host of nieces, nephews.

Visitation 4:00pm to 5:00pm Friday, February 20, 2026, at Brown Funeral Home Pine Bluff, AR. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am. Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Solomon Hill Missionary Baptist Church Pine Bluff, AR, by Pastor Ken Daniels. Interment in Solomon Hill Cemetery Pine Bluff, AR by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, AR. His body will lie in-state from 9:15am until service time.
