1938-2026
Gloria Ann Cunningham Lay, age 87, of Garrett Bridge, Arkansas went to be with her heavenly father on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. She was born to Dean and Annie Cunningham of Lake Village, Arkansas on December 31, 1938. Her parents, siblings, and loving husband of 60 years, Alvie Lay, all preceded her in death.
Gloria was a member of Anderson Chapel Baptist Church at Garrett Bridge for many years. She was a retired teacher of 33 years. She took great pride in teaching and watching her students become successful adults. She enjoyed spending time in her yard planting flowers and mowing, helping Alvie with their cattle and chicken operations, along with being “Mawmaw” to all of her precious grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Robin Lay Harrison and husband Jeff, Randy Lay and wife Michelle, all of Garrett Bridge; her grandchildren Austin Harrison, Allison Lockwood, Anna Walley, and Lillian Lay; along with 5 great grandchildren.
Family, friends and former students are invited to a visitation on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 10-11:15am, at Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas. A graveside service will follow at 12pm, at Tyro Cemetery in Tyro, Arkansas with Rev. Greg Tucker officiating.
