Larry David Broom, Jr. was born November 14, 1971 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Martha Ann Holmes Broom and the late Larry Wilson Broom. Larry departed this life for eternal life on February 4, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Larry loved and cherished his family; he had a happy and playful personality. He loved having fun, joking and playing around and especially had a love for sports specifically football. He accepted Christ at an early age, under the leadership of Rev. James Wilkerson at New Direction Missionary Baptist Church. He received his education form Pine Bluff Public School District and graduated from the Altheimer High School Class of 1990. Afterwards, he joined the U.S. Navy: after serving his time in the military, he moved to Detroit, MI where he worked various jobs. His last employment before his health decline was Voss Taylor Steel, as a Professional License High Crane operator.
Larry took great pride in his skill and responsibility; his long-standing license was a true testament of his strength and dedication he brought to his profession every day. He was a man who defined his life through honest labor and pride, truly a master of his skill in this high-stakes field.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry W. Broom. His grandparents; Robert Broom, L.H. Holmes, Lucy Broom and Rosie L. Holmes.
He leaves to cherish and honor his loving memories, his mother, Martha Broom of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Four sisters; Tabatha Broom, Roshell Broom of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Tiffany Pickens of Marion, Arkansas and Marsia Broom Williams of St. Paul, Minesota. One son; Davonta Broom of Monroe, Michigan. Two daughters; Aja D. Broom of Inkster, Michigan and Adrinne P. Williams of Lansing, Michigan. One grandson; Alonzo Burbridge of Inkster, Michigan. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 12:00 noon at the Billie Jean "B.J." Jackson Memorial Chapel 3705 West 6th Avenue Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery- Veteran Section by Paradise Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 11:00am- 12:00 noon at the chapel.
