Tommy James Horney, age 71, of Malvern, died Sunday, February 8, 2026, at his home. He was born on May 14, 1954, in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, to the late Dorsey Horney and Edith Martin Horney. Reared and educated in West Virginia, he had been a resident of Malvern since 1996. Tommy was the husband of Linda Smith Horney, to whom he was married on September 12, 2000. Tommy retired as foreman from Ballenger-Greenville, South Carolina, an interstate construction company, after 20 years with the firm. He was a Protestant,

Survivors include his wife, Linda; two sons, Sonny (Carol) Horney of Virginia; Tom James Horney, Jr.; and a daughter, Elena; a sister, Frances Lingerfelt; two brothers, Lucky Martin and Tracy Horney; all of West Virginia; and numerous grandchildren including: Dustin, Savannah, Nicholas, and Matthew; and many cousins, aunts and uncles, all of West Virginia.

At Tommy’s request, there will be no formal service, but a visitation will be held in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home from 2-3 o’clock on Friday afternoon, February 13, 2026.
