Reba Torres, 96, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 25, 2026.
She was born July 11, 1929, in the Hardin Community, to the late Willam Norris Hughes and Emma Mae Harris Hughes.
Reba was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff.
Following graduation, she worked as a CPA for John Talbot for several years before becoming a bookkeeper at Varco Pruden.
Reba lived a rich and full life. She cherished time spent with her family and was deeply passionate about genealogy, often spending hours unlocking the puzzles of past generations.
She was always ready for an adventure and enjoyed traveling anywhere. Above all, her greatest joy was music, and our memories of her will always include her singing.
In addition to her parents, Reba was preceded in death by her husband, James Joseph Torres, whom she married on June 14, 1959, in Pine Bluff, and five sisters, Vivian Hughes, Sammie Davis, Billie Jean Hughes, Anna Bess Robinson and Doris Hughes.
Survivors include her daughter, Drucilla Wuerth of Rolla, Missouri; and her son James Elton (Darlene) Torres of Clinton, Louisiana.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 2, 2026, from 5:00 P.M-7:00 P.M. at Robinson & Fuller White Hall Chapel. The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at Robinson & Fuller White Hall Chapel with Brother Johnny Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Hardin Cemetery.
