Josephine “Josie” Mora Brown, 86, of White Hall was a hardworking, loving wife and mother who loved her family and her church family.
She went to be with her Lord Friday, January 16, 2026, exactly five years after her second husband, James Brown, passed away.
Josie was born February 9, 1939, in Waukegan, Illinois, daughter of Manuel and Margaret Learch Mora.
She was reared and received her early education in Illinois. Josie married her first husband, Harry Caulley, and they had four children together, Harry, Linda, David and Timothy.
Josie later married Paul Zupan in 1970 and had two children, James and Paula.
Paul passed away in 1996 and she eventually moved to Arkansas to be closer to her sister, Pat.
She later met and married James A. Brown.
Josie was a member of New Harvest Church of God in White Hall. After James passed away in 2021, she became a member of Operation Naomi, a group of widows in the church. She was also an active member of Pick and Grin on Friday nights.
Along with her parents and both husbands, Josie was preceded in death by a son, Harry Caulley; two sisters, Pat Devers and Kim Hoffman; and a couple of brothers.
Survivors include three sons, James Zupan (Jacqueline) of Antioch, Illinois, David Caulley (Debbie) of Florence, Wisconsin and Timothy Caulley (Sherri) of Lake Elsinore, California; two daughters, Linda Wait (Bob) of Sheridan, Arkansas and Paula Zupan Swanson (Cal) of Lombard, Illinois; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2026, at Robinson and Fuller White Hall Funeral Chapel with Pastor Travis Creekmore officiating. Interment will follow in Redfield Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Robinson and Fuller.
