Ricky Lee Newman, 67, of Star City passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was born July 4, 1958, to the late Stark Joseph “Junior” Newman Jr. and Mae Luster Newman.
Ricky was a hard worker. He was employed at Central Moloney as a repair mechanic for 47 years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his daughter and grandchildren.
Also preceding him in death were his two sisters, Vickie Coulter and Tricia Moore.
Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Walker of North Carolina, one brother, Billy Newman (Elma) of Star City, three grandchildren, Taylor Vickers (Austin), Tyler Walker, and Tanner Walker, one great-grandchild, Adalyn Jane Vickers, six nieces, Mandy Luma, Tabatha Warner, Shelli Coleman, Desiree Vinson, Samantha Harris, Haylee Moore, a brother-in-law, Jimmy Moore and many great nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation services will be Friday, January 16, 2026, at Griffin Funeral Service from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Griffin Funeral Service, with Bro. Jeremy Haire officiating. Burial will follow at Newman Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his CMI work family. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Service in Star City.
