Tommy Joe Wansley Jr., 72
1954-2026

Tommy Joe Wansley, Jr., born July 13, 1954, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to Tommy and Sarah Wansley, was a beloved husband, father, friend, and neighbor who touched many lives with his kindness and easygoing spirit. He passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026.

Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Karrie Wansley, and his wonderful daughter, Ciara Wansley, who were the center of his world. He was an avid gardener and was especially known throughout Jefferson County for growing some of the best tomatoes around—something he took great pride in and loved sharing with others. He never missed a NASCAR race, and would argue that a Ford is better than a Chevy.

A true social butterfly, Tommy never met a stranger. He cherished time spent on the river with friends and family, creating countless memories filled with laughter and companionship. He was also a devoted animal lover, with a special fondness for the neighborhood German shepherd, Simba, who held a special place in his heart.

Tommy was a dedicated and hardworking man, spending over 40 years in the pulp and paper industry, where his strong work ethic and reliability were well known and respected.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to all the friends and loved ones who cared for Tommy over the years, especially his good friends and neighbors: Hunter, Tori, and Hazel Hankins; Vickie and Scott Ladd; Johnny McCall; and many others who offered support, love, and friendship.

Tommy Joe Wansley was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, January 9, 2026 at Ralph Robinson and Son. Visitation will be Friday, 10:00 AM until service time.
