Syble Mabry Tanner, 85

Syble Mabry Tanner, 85, of Dumas, Arkansas, passed away December 17, 2025, at Dalton's Place in Star City, Arkansas. She was born October 1, 1940, in Plainview, Arkansas, to Ernest and Sylvia Mabry. Syble was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 57 years, Lavan Tanner, and twin infant daughters, Stephanie Janet and Vanessa Jane.

Syble had a business degree from Little Rock Business School and was the bookkeeper for Lazenby and Blackwell Clinic for many years. She graduated from UAM School of Nursing in 1979 with a BSN degree. She was a registered nurse for 35 years, working for Delta Memorial Hospital and Arkansas State Health Department.

Syble was a member of Dumas First Baptist Church. She was a gifted musician who played piano and guitar. She was a devout Christian who loved God, her family, and her Church.

Syble is survived by her daughters, Larell Jones and Jennifer (Mark) Farmer of Dumas, her granddaughter Kala Jones of Frederick, Maryland, grandsons Neil Lenderman of Dumas, Arkansas, Ty (Brittany) Farmer of Dumas, Arkansas, and Brad (Margaret) Farmer of Pensacola, Florida, great-granddaughters Amy Lenderman of Dumas, Arkansas, and Aliana and Charlotte Farmer of Pensacola, Florida, a great-grandson Lyndon Lavan Farmer of Dumas, Arkansas, and two sisters Othello Brogan of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Ellen Smith of Springdale, Arkansas.

Visitation will be Monday, December 22, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas. Service will follow at 2:00 with Bro. Julius Carter officiating. Burial at Walnut Lake Cemetery.
