Big Golden Lions Dominate Royals in Convincing 114-64 Win

PINE BLUFF, Ark. — The University of Arkansas–Pine Bluff (UAPB) men’s basketball team put together a powerful performance last night to defeat Ecclesia College 114–64 at H.O. Clemmons Arena in non-conference action.
From tip-off, the Golden Lions set the tone and never looked back, rolling to a 50-point margin of victory behind a balanced offensive attack and aggressive defensive effort.
The Golden Lions jumped out to an early advantage and consistently stretched the lead throughout the contest, forcing turnovers and converting on transition opportunities. UAPB’s balanced scoring and relentless defense were reflected in the decisive final score.
Senior standout Quion Williams was sensational, leading all scorers with 25 points while filling up the stat sheet in other areas as well. Williams grabbed 16 rebounds, dished out seven assists, and contributed six steals, showcasing his all-around impact on both ends of the floor.
Trevon Payton continued his strong play, finishing with 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including 4-of-7 from three-point range, and added six rebounds for UAPB. Alex Mirhosseini also made his mark with a 20-point outing, going 8-of-18 from the field and providing scoring punch in key moments. Coach Solomon Bozeman talked about what his team needs to do to continue to be successful:
For the visiting Ecclesia Royals, Ahmad Raymond and Adrian Nelson each scored 12 and 10 points, respectively, accounting for the team’s top offensive contributions on the evening.
With the victory, UAPB improves its overall record, continuing its efforts to gain momentum as the season progresses. The Golden Lions’ offensive efficiency and depth were on full display in this dominant performance.
