Maryetta Whitaker, 58, of Dermott passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025 at her home. She was born January 26, 1967 in Dermott, AR to the late Willie O’Neal Sr. and Ethal Barney O’Neal.
Mrs. Whitaker was a member of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, she enjoyed going out to eat, going to the park, spending time with friends and family, fishing, and she loved her job as a Hospice nurse.
She is survived by her husband of thirty years, Thomas Whitaker of Dermott, four sons, Curtis O’Neal Sr. (Shonta) of McGehee, Dewey O’Neal of California, Spiry James Whitaker of Dermott, and Thomas James Whitaker Jr of Dermott, three daughters, Delia O’Neal of Dermott, Anglia Whitaker of Dermott, and NeNe Whitaker of Little Rock, three brothers, Joseph O’Neal (Essie) of Grady, Willie O’Neal Jr and Joelee O’Neal both of California, 25 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, Jaden White and Ja’Kane Green.
Family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
