Arkansas State junior kicker Clune Van Andel has been named the Sun Belt Conference Special Teams Player of the Week after a standout performance in the Red Wolves’ 34-24 win over Georgia Southern.
Van Andel, a Grand Rapids, Michigan native, accounted for 10 points, going 2-for-2 on field goals and converting all four of his extra point attempts. He connected from 24 and 27 yards, playing a pivotal role in securing the conference victory at Centennial Bank Stadium.
This marks Van Andel’s 10th career game—and fourth of the 2025 season—with multiple field goals made, bringing his career total to 33. His performance underscores his reputation as one of the Sun Belt’s most reliable specialists.
The recognition adds another milestone to Van Andel’s steady career, as he continues to be a vital contributor to A-State’s special teams unit under head coach Butch Jones.
The Red Wolves, now 5-2 overall and 3-1 in Sun Belt play, travel to face the Troy Trojans next weekend.
