With the departure of Toby Cornejo to Prairie View A&M, SeArk College has promoted Ed Corniel to head baseball coach.
Corniel, who served as an assistant coach during Cornejo’s tenure, brings extensive experience as both a player and a coach to the Sharks baseball program.
He spoke with Deltaplex News about the promotion and what it means to him.
Corniel said that with the Sharks gaining postseason eligibility last season, he believes it will help him and his staff continue to recruit top-tier players to the program.
He also discussed his plans for the program moving forward as head coach.
