The Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC) announced a major technological upgrade to the state’s missing persons website, NeverForgotten.ar.gov, on Friday, June 27, 2025. The revamped system now offers real-time updates to help law enforcement and the public locate missing individuals more efficiently.
Originally launched in 2016, the site serves as a publicly accessible, searchable database of all reported missing persons in Arkansas. With the new enhancements, the system will now automatically update when local law enforcement enters or modifies a missing person report in the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database.
Key Features of the Upgrade Include:
-
Real-time posting of newly reported missing persons once entered into the NCIC.
-
Live updates to reflect any changes to an active case, such as new details or corrected information.
-
Immediate removal of individuals from the public site when their NCIC status is cleared, indicating they’ve been found.
-
Automatic alerts to the Arkansas State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service for new entries, helping agencies mobilize faster—especially in cases involving at-risk juveniles.
Prior to the upgrade, the NeverForgotten site was only updated weekly, which sometimes resulted in outdated information that hindered public awareness and slowed investigative responses.
“These enhancements will improve the effectiveness of missing person investigations and public awareness campaigns, increasing the chances of safe recovery—particularly for vulnerable populations such as children and at-risk adults,” said ACIC Deputy Director Rick Stallings, who led the research and implementation process in partnership with the site’s vendor.
Currently, Arkansas has more than 400 unsolved missing persons cases, involving individuals ranging in age from 1 to 91 years old.
Major Stacie Rhoads of the Arkansas State Police emphasized the state’s continued commitment:
“Any missing person, regardless of age, is important. We will continue to work together to find innovative ways to bring them home.”
The success of the NeverForgotten system also depends on timely and accurate information from local law enforcement agencies, who are responsible for submitting updated case details and photographs. Families of missing persons are encouraged to provide the most recent photos and descriptive information to assist investigations.
The initiative is supported by a broad coalition that includes the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office, Arkansas State Crime Lab, Arkansas State Police, Arkansas Association of Chiefs of Police, Arkansas Sheriffs’ Association, FBI Little Rock Division, the Morgan Nick Foundation, and the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs).
“Locating missing children and adults is a priority shared by local, state, and national partners,” said Arkansas Public Safety Secretary Col. Mike Hagar. “In Arkansas, we work together to support families searching for answers.”
The NeverForgotten.ar.gov website was originally developed as a joint effort between ACIC and the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office.
