Leslie Henderson, the former girls head basketball coach at Watson Chapel, has been appointed as the girls head basketball coach at Class 1A Viola High School.
Henderson is coming out of retirement after a distinguished 35-year tenure at Watson Chapel, where she led her teams to 13 conference championships and 5 state championships in basketball, in addition to 4 conference championships and 5 state championships in track.
Her new role at Viola will have her overseeing the Longhorns, who recently completed a season with a 13-6 overall record and a 6-2 conference record, placing them second in the 1A-2 conference.
Henderson’s extensive experience and successful track record will make her a valuable asset to the Viola basketball program.
Her family includes her husband, Joe, who is the President of Petter Supply in Paducah, Kentucky, and their twin daughters, Hannah Henderson and Mimi (Reed) Hill.
