Kayla Adams SB

Birmingham, AL.– The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff softball star Kayla Adams has been named to the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) All-Conference First Team, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. This marks the second consecutive year that Adams has received this honor, adding to her accolades, which include being named SWAC Freshman of the Year in 2024.

During the 2025 season, Adams established herself as one of the top pitchers in the league, consistently demonstrating command and power on the mound. She started all 15 games she played in and completed 14 of those games, serving as a workhorse for the Golden Lions, despite a late-season injury that interrupted her dominant performance.

Even with the shortened season, Adams led the SWAC with a 2.42 earned run average (ERA) and topped the conference in total strikeouts, fanning 109 batters. Her ability to command the strike zone and generate swings and misses, along with her stamina to pitch complete games, made her one of the most formidable pitchers in the conference.

Adams is known as a fiery competitor and a respected leader. She consistently shut down opposing lineups, holding hitters to a batting average below .200. Her season featured multiple performances with double-digit strikeouts and notable victories against top conference rivals. Additionally, she showcased elite control, minimizing walks and maintaining her composure in high-pressure situations.
