The venue in North Little Rock opened in 1999 as Alltel Arena. It was renamed Verizon Arena in 2009 after the company purchased Alltel. Now, its new name will be Simmons Bank Arena. Simmons Bank acquired naming rights to the arena for $10.5 million last November.
According to a new release the change will become official on Thursday. Verizon Arena signage was removed from the venue Monday morning. Simmons Bank signage is expected to be installed later this year.
