Students and community leaders in the McGehee area are working together to aid the community by creating mini-food pantries in McGehee.

According to the McGehee Dermott Times-News. Old newspaper racks have been converted into the three mini-food pantries which will be placed at various locations.

Those locations will be on Main Street between the McGehee Food Pantry and the old American Legion building; in front of Savemart Grocery and Dollar General.

The machines will contain non-perishable food, clothing items like socks and gloves, and items like toothpaste, anti-bacterial ointments and other hygiene products.

People will have access to the machines 24-hours a day and the McGehee Police Department and other volunteers will monitor the machines and restock them as necessary.
