A $25,000 bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man accused of firing shots at another man last Friday.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Casey Grant, 28, with aggravated assault.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from Detective Christ Wieland, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said police on Friday were sent to 13th Avenue and Cypress Street in response to a reported shooting and spoke to two individuals.

Prosecutors released the other individual, Andrew Bess pending further investigation.

Grant was ordered to have no contact with Bess until the case is settled. The Public Defenders’ Office was appointed to represent him and he was told to come back to court Aug. 23.
