A $20,000 bond was set Thursday for a Pine Bluff man accused of taking a vehicle belonging to his former girlfriend, then using it to ram a second vehicle that she was in.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Terrence Roby, 29, with aggravated assault.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from Detective Jason Boykin, Deputy Prosecutor Mircha King said offices were on the parking lot of the police station Tuesday at 11:18 p.m. when a blue Chevrolet pickup pulled onto the lot at a high rate of speed, followed by a white Dodge Magnum that also pulled onto the lot at a high rate of speed.

A female who was in the truck told police Roby had broken the windows of her Dodge Magnum, took the keys then drove off.

When Roby was questioned, he admitted taking the woman’s vehicle and after locating her at another location, ramming the truck she was in. He said he was “mad because she was with another guy.”

Roby was ordered to have no contact with the victim, her children, or the male driver of the truck until the case is settled. He was told to come back to court Oct. 17.
