UPDATE 8:17 A.M.
Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley has identified the homicide victim as 20-year-old Kendrin Hicks of Pine Bluff.
Hicks was pronounced deceased at 11:53 p.m. by Deputy Coroner Eric Belcher.
Hicks’ body will be sent to the state crime lab for an autopsy to determine official cause of death.
ORIGINAL STORY:
On February 23, 2023, at about 10:15 PM, Pine Bluff Police Officers responded to a reported vehicle accident with injuries near the intersection of 3rd and Hutchinson.
Officers located a grey car that had struck a telephone pole just East of Hutchinson on 3rd St. They found one male in the vehicle and another male near the scene of the crash.
The Officers discovered that both males had been shot prior to the crash.
One of the males was transported to a hospital in Little Rock. The other male was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Eric Belcher.
The motive for this shooting is still under investigation. The name of the deceased will be released after next of kin have been located and notified.
