Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bonds after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Demetrius Urquhart, 51, and Tiwana White, 51, with forgery, theft by receiving a firearm, possession of a controlled substance with purpose to deliver cocaine, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, manufacturing a controlled substance cocaine and being felons in possession of a firearm.

Reading from an affidavit by White Hall Police Investigator Charles Treadway, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West said on Wednesday, White Hall Police were sent to the Big Red Travel Plaza in response to a reported forgery.

West said officers went to that room and when they knocked on the door, Urquhart opened it and White was also in the room. Officers reported detecting the odor of marijuana coming from the room and learned that Urquhart is on parole and has a search waiver on file.

When Urquhart was questioned, he said he had no knowledge of any of the contents of the room.

West said Urquhart has a length criminal history dating back to the 1990’s and White also has prior felony convictions. Both were told to come back to court Sept. 11.
