A Fayetteville man was arrested after fleeing an attempted traffic stop by an Arkansas State Trooper after driving without a seat belt Wednesday.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from Trooper Markeith Neal, Deputy Prosecutor Lisa McGriff explained that Trooper Neal observed a Black Acura driving north with a white male, later identified as  James Turner who was driving without a seatbelt and changed lanes without a turn signal before stopping at a stop light on Dollar Way Road and Hutchison.

Mcgriff further explained what led to the arrest.

She added that Turner has other felony cases pending outside of Jefferson County.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 for Turner after prosecutors found probable cause to charge him with felony fleeing and several misdemeanor traffic charges. The public defender’s office was appointed to represent Turner and he was told to return to court Feb 2.
