One person was killed and a second injured in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 425 Sunday night.
According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, Kristi R. Prince, 44, of Monticello died when the 2018 Nissan she was driving was struck head-on by a 2000 Buick driven by Lucas Naron, 18, of Crossett.
The report said Prince was northbound in rural Drew County and Naron was southbound before, for unexplained reasons, his vehicle crossed the center line.
Naron was injured and taken to UAMS at Little Rock for treatment.
The report said that after impact, both vehicles came to rest facing west in the southbound lane.
The accident was reported at 6:20 p.m. and according to the report, the weather was clear and the roadway dry at the time.
